Problem with internet connection

Hello,

I am having a problem with my internet connection:
I can connect to the internet using my current connection setup and it works fine for about 5 minutes. After this period of time, if go to visit another webpage, for some strange reason it just wont load, but When I check my modem connection status it is still connected and sending and receiving information.

When I bring up the modem connection settings it appears to be still connected, but to upload a webpage or follow a link from the existing loaded webpage I have to disconnect and then re-connect to my service provider.

I have tried a few different things like adjusting my security and browser settings with no luck... but I do not have this problem with my laptop using exactly the same setup as my PC as in the list below:

I am using the following..........

• Opperating System: XP Home (service pack 2)
• Web Browser: Internet Explorer 7
• Broadband Provider: Pipex Homecall
• Modem: Thompson SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL modem
• Antivirus: AVG Free Antivirus

Any suggestions?

When it stops allowing you to connect to new pages, please do this.

Try these simple tests.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

PING 216.109.112.135

PING yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.




I'd also like to see this at that time.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
