DSL Wireless Issues-Westell, Zhone
Hello, I just switched my DSL/phone service from Verizon to Cavalier for purposes of saving money. I am actually very happy with the new service.
Anyway, I was using a Westell VersaLink Wireless router (327W) with my old service. With the new service, Cavalier sent me a new modem called Zhone without wireless capability. I was hoping to keep the Westell and scrap the Zhone with the new service, but for some reason I am unable to get an internet light on the Westell. All I really need is to establish a wireless connection for my laptop, but I am pulling my hair out trying to configure the thing. Is there some sort of way that I can do this or even just run through the Zhone into the Westell and have wireless capabilities? I also have an ActionTech wireless router (MI424WR) that is used with the FiOS service that I was trying to set up as a wireless point. Just hoping to get one working for a wireless base. Any help is much appreciated, thanks! -Jay |

Re: DSL Wireless Issues-Westell, Zhone
Why not just use the Actiontec MI424WR as your wireless router? It's a standard Ethernet router, and should work fine.
Is the Zhome a router too? Can we see this when connected directly to the Zhome modem? Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
