Repetitive 'Limited Connectivity' message, router must be reset every half hour
Hi all,
I've been having constant problems with my network at home (wired and wireless) and I'm at my wits end. The DSL connection comes into a Siemens Speedstream 4100 modem and then onto a D-Link WBR-1310 router. The connection stays strong for between 30 minutes to a little over an hour. Then, any computer connected wired or wirelessly to the network receives a 'Limited or no connectivity' message. The only way I've found to bring the connection back is to reset the router by pulling the plug. Then everything starts working again the the cycle starts over. In about another half hour, the router will have to be reset again. I'd be thrilled if someone could take some time and really try to help me diagnose the problem. Thanks in advance, Matt |

Well, you can start by disabling any P2P applications, since that's a classic symptom of them overloading the router. Upgrade the router firmware to the latest version, and do a factory reset and reconfiguration as well.

In addition to the above, try this - (this is what used to fix this message most of the times for me, when I was working for Bellsouth DSL, which is now AT&T DSL)
Assuming SP2 is installed, Start > Run > type in netsh winsocket reset and hit Enter. Reboot the machine. |

Thanks for the responses.
Tried everything listed in the above two posts and it's still happening. Any specific settings I should check? Thanks again, Matt |

Buy a new router?
