Slow internet
I have been having problems with my internet connection lately, though my computer is half-decent (2.1ghz, 1 gig of RAM, Windows XP, Radeon X800 XL) and my connection is cable. I have other, less advance computers in the house that run much smoother on the internet.
The problem, specifically, is that when I try accessing some web pages (CNN.com), the web page freezes in the middle of loading (the web page, not the computer), and refresh as I might, I cannot load the page. The problem exist in both Firefox and IE7, and even though the connection is where it should be (7000 kbps download, 500 kbps upload), all updates are downloaded, and I've spoken to my service provider, the problem still persist. This has been going on for months now, and I've just been ignoring the problem. Any ideas what direction to take, now that I cannot ignore it any more? |

Re: Slow internet
I'd start by looking for malware.
