AOL set-up

Hi,
I have a friend who has signed up for the free laptop with an AOL connection to the WWW. OK that is a done deal and the laptop and AOL stuff has all been handed to me to set up. I'm doing this as a favour.

Question is Can I set up the laptop(Vista) with AOL all on my ADSL broadband connection without any adverse affects on my connection?.

The laptop will be using an AOL supplied netgear ADSL modem so the two systems will be quite seperate. ( I have a W2K PC on a BT supplied ADSL modem)

This way it will be all set up the laptop and the connection to the internet on my connection and be ready so I can go around to her house with a working system.

Can anyone see any issues with this.? I would hate to mess up my connection whilst geeting a new one working.

Thanks for any help

JW

Re: AOL set-up

IMO, setting up AOL's software is a crapshoot as far as screwing things up. I'd suggest you have a FULL backup of your system.
