No Connection Trough Ethernet Cable

New Here
I Have A Zyxel Modem And I Currently Use A Usb Cable For My Broadband As I Lost The Connection With The Ethernet Cable. Now I Am Trying To Connect A Wireless Router (belkin) And For This I Need To Use The Ethernet Cable. Any Ideas As To Why It Will Not Work With The Ethernet Cable But Works On The Usb Cable Would Be Greatly Appreciated

Look in device manager and make sure your "network adapter" is listed, and is working properly.

Re: No Connection Trough Ethernet Cable

Did you power cycle the modem and the computer when you changed to using the Ethernet connection? That's a mandatory step.

The exact make and model of the equipment would be real helpful too.

A simplistic answer which ignores many of the possibilities. These aren't even the most likely scenarios.

he said he was using ethernet and it stopped working. powercycling the modem would be needed when plugging a new device into it. checking to see if the ethernet card was mentioned and if that is working properly a bad ethernet cord or port on the modem would cause his problem and still allow usb to work.
