Trying to create wireless network on PC, Linksys router and Dlink modem trouble

I have a home account with a router through a modem next to a cable jack wall hole, and I'm able to connect to it with my computer through its wireless card. However, the signal is too far away for other computers in the house to pick up on it.

I'm trying to install my own home network with a Linksys router, by transferring the connection I already have to others. At the moment, I can't figure out how to do this or if it's even possible. My Linksys is a v.2 WAP router, model BEFW11S4.

I have also tried putting a Dlink router into the PC and connecting the other computers via phone lines, but with no success. If it is not possible to do this, are there any other things I can use for the same process?

Maybe if you'd describe the existing network we'd have more to go on.

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Make and model of the broadband modem.
Make and model of the router.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Make/model of your computer.
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc.

Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.




On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this:

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
