Netgear router upgrading problem.

Hi,
I have a Netgear DG834G but it is from Virgin.Net so its blocked.
Is there any way around this so I can upgrade it as it is V1.02.02.
Thanks

Re: Netgear router upgrading problem.

I'd answer, but I have no idea what they did to it, or if it's usable on another network. I assume you tried going to Netgear and upgrading the firmware to a standard load?

Re: Netgear router upgrading problem.

Sorry, I have no idea how you'd go about it. If you have access to hardware development tools, it probably has a J-Tag port that you can FLASH it from, assuming you have the firmware image.

Re: Netgear router upgrading problem.

It's not for the novice. Usually, you'll have to solder the connector onto the router's PCB, since they just leave the empty spot for it.
