bluetooth mystery

I have a treo 755p from sprint. it uses palm os 5 and has bluetooth 1.2. I want to buy the motorola motorokr s9 bluetooth headphones. it uses bluetooth 2.0. I emailed palm and asked them if the two devices were compatible and they said no. can anyone explain why the two devices are incompatible or does palm just want me to buy their brand of bluetooth accessories. thanks alot

Re: bluetooth mystery

BT 2.0 is a long range version, however it should be backward compatible with BG 1.2

Re: bluetooth mystery

ok it is backwards compatible, according to the palm techsupport manager the person I was talking with was wrong about everything.

the one thing I do need is a2dp support. they suggested audio gateway, but I won't pay $20 for something that should have been included in my phone. so would someone tell me a free program that lets me play a2dp music on my bluetooth headphones like audio gateway does?
