Help Me Please!!!!
Something is wrong with my connection(not this one obviously, different one). The computer detects the connection and says its connected, but Windows Live Messenger won't sign in and the Internet won't even load up Google! I'm on cable broadband, with a wireless modem. My room is at the other end of the house to the modem, but it's been working fine since I installed my wireless adapter. I probably should know how to fix it, but I've tried everything. I got no idea what is wrong, and I really need it up and running. Can anybody here help?
(Running Vista Home Premium btw) |

Re: Help Me Please!!!!
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.
Make and model of the broadband modem. Make and model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer. Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages. On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this: Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Help Me Please!!!!
Don't worry, I fixed it. I just disabled IPv6 and it's back to working as normal. But do you have any tips to speed up the internet and downloads in Vista? Sometimes the connection is so slow that I think dial-up would be faster.

Re: Help Me Please!!!!
From the Vista machine, and also from another machine on the network, please do this:Register at DSLReports and run their line quality tests. Post a link to the results here.
Also, lease supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please. Make and model of the broadband modem. Make and model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer.
