Zyxel Prestige Router

Hey all,
ive recently been having trouble with my Zyxel Prestige Router so i thougt id go in and change some settings but ive forgotten my login details.
I had a tech guy come around a few weeks ago to change the settings, and he also changed the password, but i dont know where ive put it :S
I know that its not the default one ie Admin etc cause i changed those as soon as i got it.
I knwo that resetting your modem by pushing the little reset button restores the factory settings, but i dont exactly want to do that cause i dont want to have to reset all the settings and ports as i dont know them all :S

Is there anyway around this problem??

Nope. If you don't know the password, I'd call that tech guy back and find out what it is. Your other option is a factory reset.

Re: Zyxel Prestige Router

Oh okay, so what would a factory reset actually do,
cause there are 5 computers (2 Desktops and 3 laptops) That connect to the router.
By resetting it will it stuff up any of the connections?? Or make it harder to connect or anyting like that?
Also i know ive opened some ports, will i have to redo those as well?

Re: Zyxel Prestige Router

You will have to do all of that. If this is a cable modem connection, wired connections normally work at the default settings.

Re: Zyxel Prestige Router

Hmmm okay,
what about wireless connections, cause the laptops all connect wirelessly.
Will they have any trouble connecting anymore?
And are there any specific settings that have to be enabled?

Re: Zyxel Prestige Router

You will have to configure the router wireless encryption and channel (if you need to change from the default). Then you'll have to enter the wireless encryption key for each laptop to reconnect.

Re: Zyxel Prestige Router

All of the configuration for the router is obviously done using the router's web based setup interface. That's where you configure the characteristics of the wireless connection.
