Vista, Internet connection drops after a few minutes until system reboot.
Hi, I have a rather annoying problem.
I currently have a pc running vista ultimate and the computer stops accepting internet after a few minutes. I am connected directly to the modem through a cat 5 cable. Ive called my isp tech support and they confirmed that the modem is not the problem and they even sent out a repair guy to take a look at my setup. His best suggestion is that something is wrong with my integrated NIC b/c it had an orange light on it. The manual for my mobo says that a continuous orange light is normal and means that information is being sent/recieved. My next step was going to try installing a seperat nic card just see what happens. Intel core 2 duo 3.0ghz 4gb RAM ASUS p5k-e mobo with built in wifi ATI Radeon HD 2900xt 512mb And all drivers are up to date. Modem is a fairly new Motorolla with digital phone service. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ![]() |

Can you try a different computer? That will eliminate the modem and ISP as the issue.
