Problem with my internet connection...
Hi...
Recently I've just upgrade my internet connection from 3500kbps to 6mbps. As the internet provider gave me a new internet modem...speedtouch 536 which is not a wireless modem...thus i bought a wireless router a "d-link router with up to 650x range or something what the gimmick said"... After i installed it.. it was working fine ,up to my expectation.Recently,i had accidentally put my wireless network into so called ''hidden network". Till now for past three days ,i could not connect to my network anymore and in the "view wireless network in range" there is no more of my wireless network in range and my computer connected to my neighbour's wireless network...can someone teach me what i can do? Thanks....... ![]() |

Re: Problem with my internet connection...
You have disabled SSID broadcasts from the wireless router. Login to the wireless router's web based setup using IE, most D-Link routers are at 192.168.0.1 as a base address. In the wireless section, enable SSID broadcasts.

Re: Problem with my internet connection...
This should be in the manual for the router. Of course, not knowing the exact model, it's hard to say.

Re: Problem with my internet connection...
That will happen if you have a 3rd party wireless client managing the connection, and WZC in Windows Services is still running.

Re: Problem with my internet connection...
Let's start with exact make/model info, as well as other specifics.
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please. Make and model of the broadband modem. Make and model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer. Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages. On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this: Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
