Hi,
Am sorry if there is a similar issue in the forum. we are having verizion DSL (wireless and 4 port modem) andDHCP lease has been 192.168.1.15 to 192.168.1.95. Now all the setting were done for Verizon and everythign works fine... Now whe nwe connect LINKSYS wireless and change the default (192.168.1.1) to with in the range of DHCP ( as 192.168.1.1 is already being used by verizon) ip addresses and so LINKSYS has been provided 192.168.1.15. so now no machine through LINKSYS is getting conencted to INTERNET and neither can ping 192.168.1.1 ( VERIZON) and neither LINKSYS WIRELESS works.. please suggest me here. -Standbyuser |

Re: Linksys Wireless Router issue!
What is your intention? Do you want to simply use the Linksys wireless as a secondary router, or do you want to replace the functionality of the Verizon ( mystery model) modem/router?
If you want to use the Linksys for all your connections, you need to configure the Verizon router in bridge mode. If you'd like to use the Linksys as a secondary router, try the following configuration. Connecting two SOHO broadband routers together. Configure the IP address of the secondary router to be in the same subnet as the primary router, but out of the range of the DHCP server in the primary router. For instance DHCP server addresses 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.100, I'd assign the secondary router 192.168.0.254 as it's IP address. Note: Do this first, as you will have to reboot the computer to connect to the router again for the remaining changes. Disable the DHCP server in the secondary router. Setup the wireless section just the way you would if it was the primary router, channels, encryption, etc. Connect from the primary router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports on the secondary router. If there is no uplink port and neither of the routers have auto-sensing ports, use a cross-over cable. Leave the WAN port unconnected! This procedure bypasses the routing function (NAT layer) and configures the router as a switch (or wireless access point for wireless routers).

Re: Linksys Wireless Router issue!
I developed this procedure to connect my routers years ago, so I guess you get it here.
I've seen similar descriptions on several sites, don't know if they just worked it out or found it somewhere.
