DSL availability?

I have been trying to get DSL for the past 2.5 years and Frontier telecommmunications began puting in the equipment to give me this service. They started in June of 2007 and finished in September of 2007. I was told by a good friend who works for Frontier and worked on the new multyplexer to service my home. He told me that it would be turned on on Wednesday October 10. I called that day and on October 11, both times customer service told me that it was still not available. Customer service cannot tell me when I will be able to get DSL. They don't even know that the techs put the equipment in. Do you have any ideas for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: DSL availability?

If they have a website, you can try to go there and see if they let you check for DSL availability that way, and they possible may give you a date or at least notify you when you can get it, but i am not sure

You can also check with other companies if there are any but from how you said it, it does not seem like there will be any

Re: DSL availability?

This is not something that we can possibly have any real idea on. Until DSL is available from your local telco, there's nothing you can do.

Hey I can share you pain. I moved to a rural area and had to wait almost 6 years for a DSL connection. I went to my telephone co web site and left them my email address. Voila, they just let me know that it was avail. So, dont lose hope.

Re: DSL availability?

DSL never came to my neck of the woods. I had nothing for years, finally about 6 years ago Comcast Internet was available. A year ago I switched to Verizon FiOS and now I actually have a choice.
