Need wireless connect to Motorola modem

Hi! I'm in a quandry as to what wireless router to buy to connect to Motorola cable modem that services my home. I'm running XP and want to connect 2 laptops. The Laptops already have standard wireless 802.11g 2.4 GHz cards. Do I need to have any particular specifications in a wireless router? Thanks!

Just a standard 802.11g router, nothing special.
