modems
Hi guys can you help, I'm sorry it's a little vauge but do I need a modem with my laptop to use in a hotel with an internet connection, or just a telephone cable.

That would depend on the hotel, but it would be rare that you'd need a modem. Normally, hotels have a wired or wireless network in place and you just connect to it.
