lan connections say not connected

hey guys, just wondering if this is a big issue and if so how do i resolve it. ok here it is. A customer called today and says the lan connection at the button of his screen says not connected. we troubleshoot as usual and the customer is able to access a webpage but when he looks down at the connection status at the buttom of the screen, it says not connected still. checked status on the network connection and it says connected. it's weird. just wondering how to resolve the problem. switched network cable around still says not connected. restarted comp and the msg is gone. Just wondering if that is normal...

Could he have two network adapters with one of them not connected?

I dont think so. But after he restarted the comp again, he did not see the msg anymore.

A restart is always a good idea when you get odd behavior.
