DSL Being SLOW! Plz Help!!!

Ok.. I am with Embarq
THE WORST TECH SUPPORT SERVICE ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH!!!

First.. they told me.. "i don't know"
Then.. "well.. there's definitely a problem"
YOU THINK?!

Ok.. here's the issue.. instead of getting 1.5mb/s like i'm supposed to.. i'm getting 20kb/s..

One guy told me it was my noise margin at Tech Support
He said it should be 20 and it's only at 9..

My Modem: ZyXel EQ 660R (Linksys)
My computer: Windows XP
I have a direct connection to the modem through a hub.. we have two computers hooked into one computer so we split it through a hub... that is also Linksys.. and it's not the Hub because i've used it at my old house and the speed was just fine.

When I first plugged the DSL service in.. it was going fast as hell.. but now 20kb/s?!?!?! SOMEONE PLEASE! help me out here.. i'm going to snap and go into a rage!

Re: DSL Being SLOW! Plz Help!!!

You need to enable PING on your network, and I'd like to have the link to the actual result, the ASCII gets scrambled here and it's impossible to read.

In the configuration of the ZyXel EQ 660R (Linksys) router, probably on the WAN configuration page.

Visit this site and run the Shields Up test on "common ports" and post the results back here. https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Re: DSL Being SLOW! Plz Help!!!

Can you take a screen shot of the main screen for the router for me, where you select the various configuration functions?

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Look on the firewall tab, that's probably where it is.

Re: DSL Being SLOW! Plz Help!!!

I can't... i've looked up the FAQ on how to enable pings.. for some reason this POS will NOT let me run a quality line test with pings..

Ok.. they just sent me a new modem with new cables.. so I got it.. now it's even worse. I'm about to go down to Embarq headquarters.. and go on a rampage.. this is BS!

Idk what to do.. you can't enable pings for some reason, you can't open ports to use file sharing applications, it's going almost as slow as Dial Up now.
