DSL connection problems
I am trying to help a friend with thier issue via irc so bear with me.
Okay so a power switch for the house was accidently turned off and once power returned the ADSL modem it would frequently cause disconnects to my friend. They are also experiencing very slow speeds. They also mentioned this 1:01<rachelr> oh btw 1:01<rachelr> it keeps doing this 1:01<rachelr> . 1:01<rachelr> - 1:01<rachelr> [14:05] * rachelr sets mode: +i 1:01<rachelr> - 1:01<rachelr> [14:05] * Dns resolving 219.188.179.186 1:01<rachelr> - 1:01<rachelr> [14:05] Local host: softbank219188179186.bbtec.net (219.188.179.186) and I don't know if that is related or not. They have tried unplugging the modem from power and then plugging it back in but that did nothing. They are using yahoo adsl through softbank, in Japan, and got thier modem from them. |

Re: DSL connection problems
The disconnects seem to happen whenever they try to do most things with their connection, like load web pages, connect on skype, etc. Oddly mIRC doesn't seem to cause the disconnects but it loses it's connection when they happen.
