I have two desktops and a laptop, all running XP, which are all able to connect to my BThomehub without any problems and are able to communicate with each other through the hub. I have recently acquired a new desktop (wireless enabled) which is loaded with Vista and which is able to see the hub but refuses to establish anything other than a limited connection with it.
I have spent several hours on the phone to the BT helpdesk but to no avail; they seem to be firmly of the opinion that I should use an ethernet cable as that works fine (but kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless network). I am of the opinion that technology beyond the level of Windows 3.1 is too new for them to have any real understanding of the problems that users are presenting them with.
Has anyone eperienced a similar problem and, if so, what is the solution? I suspect that IPv6 might be partly to blame and also the fact that the pc seems to be cofiguring its own IP address rather than allowing the hub to allocate it one.
Can anyone help before I throw both the pc and the hub out of a window?

Welcome To TSF.

I know this might be a stupid question but have you inserted you WEP key, Which is located at the back of the BT Home Hub, Under Home Hub as WEP Key?

Have you tryed any other wireless devices?

I've got a spare Belkin usb wireless network adapter but I am reluctant to use it as I don't want to load extra drivers that might only serve to complicate the issue
