Wireless router with DSL
I have a zoom DSL router that runs DHCP but has a static IP address. I bought a Netgear WGR 614 router to set up a wireless network but when I try to load the Netgear software it hangs up at re-starting the network. It also takes the configuration off of the computer and I have to re-enter the IP, Gateway, and DNS addresses. How can I get this to work or can I?

do you mean the gateway ? does the ip address fall in line with your lan ip address pool ? or are you looking at the isp's wan address. ? so if this is a router , i assume it does not have wireless , that is why nwtgear? , |

YOU REALLY DO NOT NEED THE SET UP SOFTWARE, you can configur manually too,,YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE SAME SUBNET AS THE ROUTER. Just connect one pc to the router with a cat5 staight through cable. do an ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew Last edited by la1 : 07-05-2007 at 03:26 PM. |
