Dsl connection

I have verizon Dsl and when I use windows messenger my friends whom have dial up can send pictures through windows messenger no problem but if they have dsl or cable modem the error message connection blocked check your ip provider to enable file sharing. but I can send pictures to all of them no problems.
p.s pictures , files or anything sharing.

Are you running a firewall of any type?
Does your ISP have you going through a proxy server?
Do you have the same version of Messanger?
