Question on hooking computers to a router via ethernet.
We just got a linksys wireles-g router and have been trying to hook up my other computer via ethernet cables, but the router wont acknowledge the computer as being connected. Any advice on how to get the router to acknowledge the computer thats trying to connect through the ethernet.

Should be plug-n-play.
How about some additional information. What kind of modem do you have? Did you turn off power to the modem when you connected the router? When you change the attached device, you MUST power cycle the modem. Did the machine in question work when directly connected to the router? Are you sure the modem is plugged into the WAN/Internet port of the router, and not one of the LAN/Network ports?
