Small Business, Only one good ping to printer over network....
Recently switched from DSL to Cabel. Upon switching I've noticed that our network printer will only print the first job sent to it after it is turned on. Then after that it errors out. Likewise, when i ping the printer the first package goes through w/out a hitch. Every package following times out. We have a Cannon3300I printer copier. We're on a LAN with one net gear switch. The modem is connected directly to the switch. I've ran out of ideas.

Re: Small Business, Only one good ping to printer over network....
You likely need a router for your cable modem service. It is possible that your previous DSL modem was a modem/router combo unit??
Broadband routers are cheap these days and you need a router to share more than 1 network device connected to a cable modem. JamesO |
