Hey John (god) Will re: Actiontec GT704-WG

John,

Further to your good advice on my other thread I decided to hit eBay for a Actiontec GT704-WG.
http://www.actiontec.com/support/bro...4-wg_faqs.html
I would very much appreciate an "order of tasks" re" how best to configure this to best meet my needs.
Allow remote desktop access to my primary (hardwired) computer & establish a secure encrypted wireless network for multiple computers.
If you can give me a list of things I need to do then I can probably use the manual to do it step by step.
FYI I do not expect to receive this in the mail until the end of the week.
I also plan to update the Firmware.
Also, so you know, my current modem is the non-wireless Actiontec GT701 provided to me by Qwest set up as transparent bridged w/ a dynamic IP.
Thanks,

fmg

You just need to configure your account name/password, then setup the wireless security, SSID, and channels. I assume you're replacing the GT701, so that should be about it.
