double the ping!!! [moved from gaming]

When i log on, i find my servers (internode) and filter to allow to see only their bf2142 servers.
I usualy play and get around 40 to 60 ping, give or take.
But for the past 5 days now, all the servers show my ping rate at 100 or more.
This is true when i get in the game, whereas now i average around 95 to 120 ping.
Those who i know and play with often, still have the same pings. I seem to be the only one effected.
Anyone know whats going on here?
Please help, cheers,
Ginetti.

Re: double the ping!!!

i have adsl, and i'm the only one in the house with a computer and internet.

It all happened since a very brief power flicker/failure, but my modem didnt seem to loose connection or power.

Any ideas"?

I am unhappy to report that my unusualy high ping continues to occur...
I am running NO programs in the background that would take up bandwith and speed.
All my virus protection and spyware scanners are off...
Can anyone offer any other suggestions?

Re: double the ping!!!

Do you possibly have access to another NIC? If you do, pop that in your system and try running off of that. A "Brown-Out" (brief period of lowered power, but no totally out) can cause computer components to go crazy. Maybe it affected your NIC.

Re: double the ping!!!

if you are behind a router, you might need to port forward your game again

Re: double the ping!!!

How high of a priority does your ISP place on raw ping? Give them a call. Also try running pingplotter to one of your favorite servers to pinpoint where the problem is. My guess is your ISP recently changed something with their routers or their ISP changed something with their routers because you are pinging all servers higher.
