Help needed >> my modem

How are you ?
I want to ask you a question I had for a period of time

I am using a dial up connection and a modem of 56 kbps speed
You know
It’s slow , so I wanted to make it faster
So, could I just replace the modem with other faster one like for example 512 kbps modem? Is it this simple or I need to do something else?

That can never happen because of the limit your telco puts on the analog voice line, which is currently 54Kbs.

Order DSL service is the next step with the telephone company to increase data rate.
