U S Robotics modem force connect speed boost
Hi,
Could you tell me if there's a string I could use to force my modem to connect at a certain speed? My U.S. Robotics 56K Win Int modem refuses to connect at anything more than 38.666 and I was wondering if there's an init to force it to connect at say, 57.600 or whatever speed I would like to try until I find a happy medium between speed and stability. It's pretty stable right now but slow as snails. I really appreciate your time-- waterprism |

Hi,
I be the bearer of bad news. The connection speed of the modem has more to do with the integrity of your phone companies line than it does with your computer. If you have the latest and greatest drivers for the modem, I know of nothing you can do to speed it up. |
