Want to install ethernet connection
Hi,
Just inquiring as to some knowledge about installing either wireless or wired ethernet connection to my computer. It is a Compaq Presario 4540 can only have 64 MB of memory at max . I installed windows 98 and am currently using dial up for this one. I have 2 other computers that run on DSL/Lynxsys modems. My laptop is on wireless and my desktop Dell is on wired ethernet. I want this other computer to also be on the DSL, is it possible? Right now it is not on the max memory only 32MB, if I upgrade to 64 is it possible? Please let me know someone! Thanks so much. |

No reason that I can think of that you can't install a $10 Ethernet NIC in the Compaq.

I just upgraded an old laptop from 32mb to 160mb, but it was running W98 with Ethernet with 32mb.
There is no connection between installed memory and the ability to install an Ethernet NIC.
