Why not describe the problem you're having?

Well, from that description, you either have a problem with the modem, the interior wiring, or the ISP's lines outside.

You can try a new modem, and you can upgrade the interior wiring. After that, it's the ISP that will have to fix the problem.

Here's my RX for the best interior wiring for DSL.

Purchase a DSL splitter and install it at the telco service entrance. Run a direct line from the DSL port on the splitter directly to the DSL modem. Connect all of the other phone instruments to the telephone output of the DSL splitter.

This is as good as it gets for DSL installations, and will usually solve in-house wiring issues.

You could take it to a friend's house with DSL and see if it works there. There is no easy to determine if it's the modem, internal wiring, or external wiring without changing something or swapping the modem.
