Unable to detect dial up modem

Hi,
I have a Compaq Presario 4540 that I installed another hard drive in and loaded it with windows 98. The original hard drive was smaller(came with system) and ran 95 so I wanted to update it. Everthing is fine except when I try to connect online my modem is not detected. I did the control panel thing and still nothing. The modem is the original and I don't have a disk or anything for it. It is a 56k and the brand is Lucent. Can someone help me get my modem working?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

I would suggest that you put the modem in PCI slot 3 (three from the AGP slot) and then go to this place and find your proper drivers:
