Multiple Computer Connections Fail

i have the exact same problem. i have a netgear wireless cable modem gateway w/ 4 lan ports in the back. i've had it hooked up on a network before (but never with a cable modem). one computer logs in (whoever beats the other wins).
exactly what am i missing? can i cable modem gateway connect to my cable modem with no problems, or is it acting as a switch? did i skip a step?

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread. I've created a new thread for your issue here. Thanks for your cooperation.

My guess is that you have the cable modem connected to one of the LAN ports, not the WAN/Internet port. Let's see the following output from the computer that's connected:

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
