Well recently my linksys router has been crashing very frequently (like anywhere from once every 2 days to 10 times in a half hour) and has been on the slow side. On top of that the signal doesnt reach my HDTV so i cant play Xbox Live unless its on a non-HD cuz thats the only HD in my house. Its also hard to wireless with any of the computers in the house without getting a lousy signal. I also have 2 wired computers and up to 2 or 3 wireless connecting computers. So far i'm looking at either a Belkin, D-Link, or Linksys (altho probly not the linksys 'cause of past problems with them). Now in order to reach the outermost parts of my house wireless N routers sounded like a smart choice. As i'm looking through reviews i realized there were a few questions i had and I thought here would be a good place to ask them.
Q: I have a wirelesss laptop card that isnt N (wireless G i think). Will it be able to take advantage of the huge signal and great speed? Or will it lag out, not pick it up as far as the signal goes and still only be able to pick as far as the other signal went? Q: Any idea if the wireless adapter Microsoft sells for the Xbox 360 can take advantage of wireless N capabilities? Q: From experience, which brand of routers would you guys say have the best range, crash the least, and have good connection speed? Thanks for the help! |
