One computer losing connection
We have 4 computers in my house and an x-box on a router, and one of the computers isn't connecting properly. This one computer loses all connection for anywhere from minutes to days at a time, and it isn't at all consistant. Here is what I know:
Originally the IP adress would change to 0.0.0.0 when it was losing connection. I found out it was IP conflict and so I changed the whole house to static IP. Now when it loses connection its IP adress stays the same but ping tests show nothing but timeouts when pinging our other computers, and doesn't recognize any websites at all. Power cycling the router doesn't help I doubt it's the computer itself because this has happened on both the current computer and the last one we had. This is also the second router we have used, and the same problem existed on the old router (we use a d-link now, and we used an actiontech before. Neither of them have been wireless). Any more tests I can do to try and solve this problem? Anyone have any advice for me? Help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance! |
