Going wireless

Hi,

This isn't a "fixing" question but anyway. I have recently bought an adsl modem/router (netcomm nb5plus4) and then later bought a laptop, only problem is now that I have the laptop I would like to be able to use it wireless around the house. I was wondering if there is a cheap (or relatively cheap) way to get a wireless type adaptor for the modem rather then having to buy a brand new router, which, unfortuantely, is expensive:(:p

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Actually, if you're in the US, a wireless router is probably the cheapest wireless device to buy. You can easily pick one up for $20 or less after rebate. Just keep an eye on these bargain sites for a couple of weeks, and several deals will come by.

a quick google should bring up plenty of sites you can use, and the d-link or belkin wireless routers are really cheap these days, and can be bought complete with wireless cards if you don't already have one :) i have a cisco 1720 ADSL modem, routed through a belkin wireless router. I have configured my wireless unit to act as just a switch, and firewalled behind the 1720 it is a safe and secure home network :D
