Whats Satellite like?

I'm movin' soon and the place I'm goin' doesn't have access to cable or dsl. So I need to get satellite.

Problem is I've no clue what satellite is like, is it cable speed? expensive? dsl speed? how do I set it up?

Add anything you think I should know here as well, I appreciate any and all help, and will admit I havent taken much time to research it, mainly beacuse of said move I'm kept rather busy.

So once again thanks in advance for any and all help.

If cable and dsl aren't options for you, see if you can get an EVDO CDMA provider. Verizon offers such a service, and it reportedly rivals DSL. Plans are still fairly pricy at the moment, but the upside is that they aren't much more than satellite, which suffers from extreme latency, high packet loss, and over-all suckiness.
