dslreport tweak guide results

-originally posted in networking forum, but seen as though no one bothered to properly look at it i thought i'd post it here too:

could someone give me some pointers as to how i should tweak my internet connection from this info: http://www.dslreports.com/tweakr/blo...inXP&via=pppoA

I've been getting a really high ping while playing online games lately, and i can't work out what's causing it, but i figured it must be something to do with my internet connection, because i have made no major changes to my computer lately, its free of viruses, trojans, spyware etc, and i've been playing online games for ages now and the problems only just arrisen

its a wireless ADSL connection, 1 meg, and i connect to it with a wireless PCI network adapter

also, it seems that if i reset my router, or when i've been fiddling with settings on my router, and applied them, my ping on a counterstrike server will go back to normal (between about 20 and 70) for about 5 minutes, then suddenly peak at about 500 and stick there (at which point i get kicked) so i figured this could in fact be a problem with my router, or my computer, not my ISP, but as i said, i've never had such a problem before!
