Port Forewarding help!

Can anybody help me with port forewarding. I have an Actiontec router and it seems to be blocking my access to a game I have played for years (different modem, different computer) Another question is..... My ISP is Qwest that is where my router came from do ihave to use that router or can I just go back to my old Wireless G
