Need advice on a 100' cable run?

I need to run from a Bellsouth DSL modem to router -- no problem, but also:

I need to run (from the router) a 100' long (rj45 connector type) cable around the house, will there much of a data loss?

If you use Cat5 or Cat6 you should not have a problem, but don't go more than 100' because if I remember correctly, anything longer than that has problems.
