Red Faced How do I hook up my DSL with no AGP slot??

Hi Everyone,

I just joined this site, thank you for being here!!! I just finished my first computer build and discovered I bought a motherboard that doesn't have an agp slot for a modem card (chalk it up to a learning experience). I have just ordered DSL and they are sending me a modem but I'm guessing I won't have a port to hook it up to. Are there any workarounds for this problem?? The modem I ordered is for Qwest's 7mb DSL. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!!

Sincerely,
ladij153

Cable modems hook up in 2 ways. Either a ethernet jack or USB. If you do not have these ports, you will need a pci card to add these ports, not AGP. It is only used for video cards. If you are missing the ethernet port, you can get a usb to ethernet adapter.

Thanks a million Terrister! I went and got a pci modem card for now....works like a charm! I will be hooking up DSL as soon as the modem arrives. I'll use one of my 8 USB ports for that and then can hook up wireless!

Warmest regards,
