Call ID format of "ZyXel omni 56kb modem

Hello friends I has a problem and maybe somebody can help me, it is that I have a modem ZyXEL onmi 56kb and recently requested the service to my phone company and the modem doesn't understand the delivered information from my phone company ,some friend said me I most to buy another modem because my modem "only understands an European format" of "call id" , I ask, is this necessary or some soft can setup the modem, will allow identifies the message of "call id" delivered from my phone company, I would thank any information in this respect and thank you in advance:4-

Hi,

I don't know about the foreign id format of your modem. However, I do know that if you have dial-up and want the service to work, you not only have to have Caller ID, Call waiting, and get this one.....and it is free from my phone company, but you have to request that it be put in service.....You must also have Call Waiting, caller ID for it to work properly. If you don't have that, it won't be able to identify who is calling. Therefore, you must request all three from your phone provider.
