Shared folders issue

Here I am again! I know hardware but software makes me cry...

On my desktop PC I have an entire HDD used for the My Documents folder. I want to be able to share this on my home network but it only works halfway. I can see the files in the folders, but I can't open anything from my other machines. I have another HDD being shared at the root level and have no problem accessing the data stored there.

Help?

What version/patch level of Windows on each machine?

In the properties of the My Documents folder, under the Sharing tab, did you uncheck the "Make this folder private" box?

Host - XP Pro SP2

Clients - XP Pro SP2 and 98SE.

All the other shared items work fine but not the My Documents share.

It's all completely open. It all worked great before my last format and reinstall.
