File sharing on wireless network
Hi
I have a wireless network thro a dlink dsl-g604t. 3 computers all share this wirelessly to access the net. I have now tried to go one step further and enable filesharing on one desktop and one laptop. The laptop can view the 2 shared folders on the desktop pc. However the desktop cannot see the 2 shared folders that are enabled on the laptop. Any ideas please Thanks |

Have you ran the Network Setup Wizard on the laptop? (Residential Gateway, enable file/print sharing.
If you have any third party firewall, you should uninstall it until you have this working. Even then, depending on the firewall itself you may have to enable it within the setup to allow this.

Since you can't ping the laptop, there is still a firewall product running there. If you have something like ZoneAlarm, you may have to completely uninstall it to get it to allow pings. Solve the ping problem first, because you're not going anywhere if that doesn't work.
