Filesharing backup question.
Ok here is the home network setup.
Downstairs we have the desktop computer. We also have a linksys wireless router attached to it that broadcast wifi to our laptop. I have noticed that the laptop is getting pretty full as is the desktop. Today in my closet I found an old CPU (or box, not sure if I have the correct terminology here) and thought of an idea. I figured it would be cool to be able to back up some of the movies, music, and photo's from the laptop onto this. How would I go about doing this? Would I need a cable to hook the laptop to the box? I guess the question is, how can I get the box to act as an external harddrive? Thanks., Ethan |

Why not just spend $25 or so and buy a USB external case. You can then remove the hard disk from your old machine and do this the easy way?
