Sharing a HP Officejet 710 on XP/2000 Network
Hi Guys,
I have a home network with a Dell Dimension 9100 running XP Home and an old HP Vectra running Win 2000. The network is fine and file sharing is ok except for sharing a HP Officejet 710 printer. The 710 is plugged into a parrallel port on the Vectra and does print when a document is sent to it from either PC, BUT after a short while it starts printing very slowly and continues that way. If I try another document then the same thing happens. It is the same situation regardless of which PC the document is printed from. Before I introduced the network the printer worked fine plugged into the Vectra. Another problem, although I don't think that it is related, is that the OfficeJet Manager software running on the Dell m/c cannot communicate with the printer. An error message indicating a communication error is displayed. Does anyone have any ideas on these problems? Thanks for your help. MartinJ |
