Question

Hey Resolution, I'm in a pickle.
Canon S330 connected to a 2000pro OS station and our 98 OS station can print to it, but no XPPro stations can.
I can get the icon to appear on the printers&faxes window, but cannot get anything to print. I have downoaded XP drivers and tried loading them into the 2000 station, but no help.
When I get into the share area, I see the additional drivers for a bunch of systems, but no XP.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, first time poster on this site.

even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread. Thanks for your cooperation.

Have you tried loading the drivers directly onto the XP stations in question?

Yes I have, each station shows the shared printer in question, but cannot print.

I believe I had a similar problem at my house when Windows 98 was acting as the print server and XP was having problems finding the printer.

Have you tried uninstalling the printer icon, and then reinstalling it using the Windows 2000 computer's static IP address or UNC path?

Sorry, you lost me on the last part.
We are peer to peer and all stations are set up to find IP's automatically. The only network printer with an IP address is our our copier/printer. It is the default for all stations as it is a b&w printer.
The Canon is the color printer when needed. I can of course save the file to the station with printer installed and print that way, but we all can access the Canon through the network. It pops in automatically when any station opens the printer and faxes window.
Should I use add/remove programs on the 2000 station and install differently?

Question

I have to ask, this station is running a 700 mhz processor with 192 mb of ram and I could upgrade to XP, but I think it could not handle the XP.
Thoughts & thanks.
