Is this possible?
Im a newb to file sharing.
I'd like to know how, if possible, how i could make an older computer into a "server" I have an outdated desktop PC, running windows XP, and i have a wireless usb dongle that i can use on it. What i want to do, is be able to save files and retrieve files off that computer from a laptop running vista and another desktop running xp. However, i do NOT have a wireless router, just wifi cards. Not sure how i could do this or how it would work. I would also if possible, like the computer that acts like a server to be password protected.....so i need a password to access the files on it. Hopefully this is do-able and someone can walk me through this. Thanks!
