[SOLVED] Networking

I have two computers connected to the internet thru a router. I want to nerwork them. The old one can connect to the new one but the new one can't connect to the old one.

The old one can ping the new one and get a response but the new one cannot get a ping response from the old one.

Re: Networking

What firewalls are running on each machine? . . Have you enabled File and printer shareing on both?

See how much this helps:

Re: Networking

1. I am running McAfee firewall and virus protection.

2. I have enabled file and printer sharing on both.

Re: Networking

McAfee firewall is probably blocking the connection . . You can disable it, establish the networking, then enable it and it should work

Re: Networking

I have two computers connected to the internet thru a router. I want to network them.

I am running McAffe firewall and Windows firewall.

McAfee recognizes both and access is permitted to the new one but access is denied to the old one.

Can I use a USB cable to gain access?

Re: Networking

McAfee can be a beast sometimes . . something is blocking the shareing and it is probbly McAfee. I would uninstall it completely, then try to connect.
