Vista laptop cant connect to printer

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me. WE use a small LAN at work with an ethernet printer connected to it. 3 xp machines can print to konica all in one printer no probs. I have added my laptop which runs vista to the LAN, the laptop can see the other PCs but the other PCs cant see laptop (in 'my network places')and also the laptop cannot print to printer. I can ping the other PCs from the laptop and vice versa, but cant get print facility to work. Printer driver is installed on the laptop and print sharing etc enabled on laptop. Konica support have tried to get it to work over the phone but say the problem is with the laptop and they cant sort it out. I really dont know where to start, all the settings look right to me I have file and printer sharing all enabled in 'network and sharing center', its a real pain at the moment because everytime i want to print i have to either save on USB and print from a desktop or save it on 'shared folders' on one of the desktops. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
